Good morning,
I’m Marina and I’m one of the italian volunteers here in Phnom Penh thank to EVS project. I’m working with KYSD (Khmer Youth Social Development) NGO and I’m elaborating an interesting project about the reproductive health of young women in Mondulkiri province. This is my first experience of voluntary work abroad and I’m tryng to live it with all my energies and strenght. Since our arrival on 10 September we found here wonderful people who help and guide us every time we need or when we have some doubts. Our tutor, Ruth Gruber, is more than a simple tutor, she is a “mum” for us, our reference point and our best personal adviser. Cambodian people are always friendly, polite and smiling with us and even if there are many problems in Cambodia and they live sometimes in extreme poverty, we’re growing rich, and we’re learning much more than a prestigious stage in an important european company with the most well-paid teachers.
I’m sure that this will be one of the most deep and beautiful experience in all my life because I’m discovering a new world, new emotions, new smells and tastes, new aspects of my personality and maybe what I would like to do in my future.
Thank to all,
Marina
